What followed next was the sound of guns which didn’t fail to reach Antonio’s ears. He smiled when he realized they were around.

The truth is finally going to reveal itself after eight long years. The truth of his identity and why he had been impersonating the identity of Moretti’s third son.

“V-Vincenzo,” the dirty man called again, tears br!m-m!n the corners of his eye. Hope – that was the only thing he could see before him the moment he laid his eyes on his brother before him.

Vincenzo, at first thought he was hearing things. But the moment he stepped closer to the cage and took a closer look at the caged man, his eyes widened and he subconsciously took a step backward.

“Who are you?” His voice came out as a whisper as he stared at the man before him with widened eyes.

“It’s me… it’s Antonio,” the dirty man cried in despair. He immediately got to his knees and crawled to the cage, holding the bars.

“It’s my, your brother,” he pressed further. Vincenzo shook his head and immediately turned his back to him. What’d Antonio be doing here? Was this a set-up?

Riccardo groaned when an excruciating pain strike his arm. His right hand sought the arm which was sought, it was immediately filled with blood.

“This can’t be,” Vincenzo’s voice got his attention and he glanced at him. He furrowed his brows when he noticed Vincenzo’s back was turned against the cage and he stepped closer.

“Don’t come closer, Cardo! It’s a trap!” Vincenzo suddenly yelled and Riccardo halted his steps.

“We need to get out of here!” Vincenzo added. He grabbed the confused Riccardo by the arm and began rushing out of he room. He hadn’t gotten far when the dirty man’s words stopped him.

“On the night of our parent’s 26th anniversary…” he began. Vincenzo froze where he stood.

“You broke Father’s favorite jar which he received as an award for being the top breadwinner of the year in the region,” the dirty man continued, his voice tinged with sorrow.

“You knocked it off the shelf, and it shattered into pieces. You tried to hide it from our parents, but Father found the shards later. He was devastated, it was his favorite and he cherished it a lot. You denied ever knowing how the jar got ruined, I was the only one who knew the truth and I kept it till date,”

When Vincenzo heard those words, he was at a loss of words to say. Two years ago, while he was having an alone time with Antonio on one sunny day, he had brought up the topic and to his surprise, Antonio never remembered any of it.

He shoved the thoughts aside, telling himself he must have forgotten since it’s been a lot of years. But now…

Slowly, he turned and stared at the dirty man who was in tears by now.

“It’s me, your brother….”

Right after reading the text message he received from Vincenzo, sudden sounds of gunshots filled the air and the next thing Theodore saw was three of the mobsters lying lifelessly on the floor.

Before he could recover from the shock, there was a sudden crash as the front door was locked open, and a group of armed men burst into the house. Gunfire erupted, filling the air with the sound of bullets and screams, as the two groups battled for control.

“Get down!” Theodore yelled, as he and the men scrambled for cover. It was impossible as they were in an open space.

As soon as Theodore finished speaking, the room erupted into chaos. Bullets flew in every direction, and the men ducked for cover. Theodore tried to take aim, but it was impossible to tell friend from foe in the confusion.

The air was thick with smoke and the smell of gunpowder. He could hear his men shouting, but he couldn’t tell what they were saying. It was like a nightmare, and he could only hope that they would make it out alive.

Then, suddenly, there was a deafening explosion. The blast knocked Theodore off his feet, and he hit the ground hard. When he opened his eyes, he saw that the roof of the house was on fire, and the room was filling with smoke.

His men were scattered around him, some injured, others dead. He could feel the heat of the flames, and he knew they had to get out of there fast. But it was too late – the room was now an inferno, and the only way out was blocked by the enemy. Theodore felt a sense of panic rise up inside him, and he knew that this was the end.

And then out of the corner of his eye, Theodore saw a glint of light. He turned his head, and his heart leaped. It was a window, and it was still intact! If they could just break through the glass, they might have a chance to escape. But the fire was spreading quickly, and they had to move fast.

“Over here!” he yelled to his men. “We need to break through that window!”
One of the men rushed over, picking up a chair and smashing it against the glass. The window shattered, and they could see the sun hitting their faces.

Theodore attempted to take a move when he heard a familiar voice calling his name. He turned and to his surprise, their attackers were all dead on the floor. The smell of smoke rented the air such that breathing was a hard task to do.

“Are you alright?” That was when Theodore discovered Riccardo was the one who brought all their enemies down.

“We need to get out of here,” he struggled to say. Riccardo looked around the house which was burning to ruins before shaking his head.

“I need to find Adriana,” he muttered. Theodore creased his brows. They haven’t found Adriana? Then, what have they been doing since?

Then, his gaze wandered to Vincenzo who had an unknown man in his arms.

“Who… who’s he?” He voiced out.

The moment Antonio heard the sound of gunshots, a sinister smile found its way to his lips and he scratched his chin in amusement.

Finally – he thought. He got to his feet and walked over to Adriana whose face was pale as though she had just seen a ghost.

“Don’t– don’t come closer,” Adriana whimpered inwardly, shifting back in fear as her nails grazed the cold floor.

“Heyy, don’t tell me you’re afraid of me now? Hell, I was your favorite!” He grabbed her chin hard. Adriana shut her eyes tightly, trembling in nothing but fear.

“Come here, let’s go see your baby daddy. I’m sure he’s all over the place looking for his baby mama,” Antonio mocked.

Adriana’s eyes instantly flew open when she heard that. “Riccardo?” She whispered and Antonio replied with a hum.

“Let’s give him a bloody welcome party!” Antonio grabbed Adriana’s arm roughly and hurled her to her feet.

As soon as he did that, there was a sudden explosion. The roof was on fire and the smell of smoke rented the air.

“$h|t!” Alora gasped and dashed out of the place, Antonio following her behind.

“Go on without me!” Riccardo yelled, gaining Theodore’s attention.

Riccardo turned and started taking steps towards the underground. He was only a few meters away from it when a familiar face came into view.

Antonio… and then, Adriana!

When his eyes landed on her, Riccardo rushed forward but Antonio was quick to place a gun on Adriana’s head.

“Take a step and she’s gone,” he warned, his eyes glinting with nothing but hatred.

Adriana shook her head, waving her hands at Riccardo, urging him to come forward. If only she could speak….

When she couldn’t take it anymore, she grabbed Antonio by the arm and dig her teeth into his flesh.

Antonio yelped in pain and his grip loosened around her. Riccardo didn’t waste any time before rushing to Adriana but Alora was faster.

She shot Adriana before Riccardo could get to her.
